What image size should I upload for a favicon?
Upload at least 512×512 pixels for the best quality across all sizes. Square images work best — non-square images will be cropped.
What favicon sizes do I need?
Most websites need: 16×16 (browser tab), 32×32 (taskbar), 48×48 (Windows site), 180×180 (Apple Touch Icon), and 512×512 (PWA). This tool generates all of them.
Can I use a JPG as a favicon?
You can upload a JPG, but we recommend PNG or SVG for transparency support. The generated favicons will be in PNG and ICO format.
How do I add favicons to my website?
Place the generated files in your site root and add link tags in your HTML head: <link rel="icon" href="/favicon.ico"> and <link rel="apple-touch-icon" href="/apple-touch-icon.png">.
